The Humanities team is a collection of highly committed individuals whose aim is to provide outstanding teaching and learning for their students.
The faculty vision is to be outstanding in everything it does. Humanities subjects are at the forefront of an ever changing world and have a huge responsibility in preparing young people for life after school; therefore analysis, understanding and tolerance is at the heart of our curriculum. Our priority is improving students' learning within Humanities. Regular out of hours learning opportunities are available as well as numerous educational visits both home and abroad.
All students are taught History, Geography, PRC and Citizenship and PSHE) in KS3. GCSEs are offered in Geography, History and Sociology as optional subjects. All students follow a Religious Studies short course through Year 9 and Year 10.
The Humanities Faculty is housed in Barossa Building and the Sixth Form Centre. All classrooms are equipped with whiteboards providing access to new means of enriching the classroom experience. The Faculty values the development of the individual student's research skills and project investigations, covering a very wide range of topics. Students are encouraged and developed throughout the Faculty and in all Year Groups.
