Ban Kamala, Thailand
Parents and students will be aware of the link that the College has with the Ban Kamala School in Thailand. We have raised money to support the students of Ban Kamala after their lives were devastated by the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004. Mr Carl Osmar is currently resident in Thailand and has worked with young people in Ban Kamala to enable Collingwood students in Year 8 studying Natural Hazards in Geography to develop a better understanding of the impact of the tsunami on the lives of those living in Thailand in particular. The information provided by the young people of Thailand has helped in developing multiple perspectives and new ways of seeing events, issues, problems and opinions. This year we have been able to provide money to enhance the curriculum at Ban Kamala. The money was raised during our College sponsored walk last year.
